About Nebraska Shakespeare On Tour

Nebraska Shakespeare is excited to announce the continuation of our acclaimed touring program, with a performance of Shakespeare’s
Twelfth Night
and adjoining workshops in September and October of 2013.
Our Touring Program is designed to use the work of William Shakespeare to offer a multitude of educational activities to illuminate and examine the life themes of Shakespeare’s plays, broaden students’ vocabulary, word analysis skills, and capacity for comprehension and fluency of text, and to allow students hands-on knowledge of theatre as an art-form.
Along with a fully-produced touring production, we also provide three additional outlets, designed in alignment with Nebraska’s standards for education, to optimize students’ learning experiences:

Post-Performance Discussions
In the discussion sessions, students are able to openly interact with the cast. Topics include style, text analysis, and vocabulary, and students are encouraged to discover conditions of the human experience that connect with challenges and experiences they face today.
Workshops
The hour-long workshops allow active engagement in the learning process and can run concurrently to accommodate 60 students (with a 20:2 students – facilitators ratio). Administrators can choose from our three standardized workshop options or workshop offerings can be molded to meet their curricular or performance-based needs. Our workshops can be conducted on a gym floor, open stage, band or chorus room, or in a classroom setting with moveable desks.
